Second crop succes with SAVARD
From our colleagues from SEMEX Holland, we received a message on the first 4 milking daughters of SAVARD on the farm of the family Steegink.
From our colleagues from SEMEX Holland, we received a message on the first 4 milking daughters of SAVARD on the farm of the family Steegink. In the Dutch village Okkenbroek, the family milks 80 Red & White dairy cows. Farmer Jan Steegink is a highly respected judge for Red & Whites and is know for his enthousiasme for the breed.
This farm has been one of the earliest users of SAVARD after he came out with his first proofs. Now, the first results are there and look promising. SEMEX pictured the SAVARD daughters. At the moment of the picture, just a single daughter was classified (VG-87 2nd from the left). The projected productions of these indivuals average on 2.01yr - 305d - 8.189kgm - 4.33%F - 3.62%P, which is well above the herd average of first lactation cows.
We thank SEMEX Holland for sharing this with us. SAVARD breeds the type of cow you appreciate more and more while maturing, therefore we are looking forward to receive more of these messages in future.
