An unique brood cows passed away

Her incredible productivity, show ring successes and ability to transmit her strengths to her offspring, made Jolahofs Starbuck JOLA truly an unique cow. Due to a foot injury she was recently culled at the age of not less than 19.5 years. Only, this is not the end for her at all. Her genes will influence the Brown Swiss breed as no other cow from Switzerland has done before.

Extremely productive and high classifications
JOLA has had 38 direct descendants, of which 20 are female. Her life time production exceeds 150’000kg milk and 11’000kg fat & protein. By now, already eight daughters have surpassed the mark of 50’000kg life time production and even five granddaughters have done likewise. This kind of productivity is rarely seen. Additionally 11 out of 15 classified daughters are score EX-90 or higher. Not surprisingly, Swissgenetics has several bulls in rearing froms this family and genomic young bulls available.

JONGLEUR, JOLA’s most popular son
Also on the male side JOLA breeds very persistent. Three of her sons returned to service. JONGLEUR is her best known and most popular son. His proofs match with the strengths of the entire JOLA-family: High conformation notes and one of the best scores for herd life in the breed. JONGLEUR’s second crop daughters are coming in milk now and dominate the show ring, just as his dam did in her best years. They are the type of cows that have the potential to achieve high life time productions, also just as JOLA did.
