20 years of Biagen Swiss: A success story!

A special birthday for our subsidiary in Romania: A good reason to celebrate there and marvel at the results of this success story!

Biagen Swiss arose from the Rebiat project created in the early 1990s by Dr. Philipp Bachmann, a vet at the Neuchâtel Insemination Station (Swiss Federation for Artificial Insemination). The company was founded as Biagen Select in Bistrita, Transylvania, on September 20, 2004.

To celebrate this round birthday, at the end of August a delegation of executive board and board members from Swissgenetics and VIANCO visited Romania. The official celebrations, along with the Swissgenetics Progeny Show, took place in the farms of Florin Platon and the Peica family, two very loyal Biagen customers since the early days. Over 750 guests admired the well-presented daughters of our bulls.

During their visit to the Dolha family farm near Reghin, the Swiss delegation also visited another farm that is fully committed to the Swiss Fleckvieh breed.

Biagen now works in milk control as well as sperm trading. A dozen employees help promote the Swiss breeding philosophy to cattle breeders in Carpathia. Since it has started its operations Biagen has sold >1,100,000 Swissgenetics semen doses from 11 breeds which makes Romania the largest export market.
